They’d make a bunch of $$$

Why isn’t there a drive-thru restaurant which specializes in different kinds of wonderful cakes sold by the slice?

  • OOH! I’d be there! Probably way too often. =)

  • That should have been “weigh.” Fortunately God also isn’t that strict on spelling.

  • And Panera… why don’t THEY have a drive-thru? And Thai restaurants? And places that JUST sell candy bars. It would be so helpful for me!!

  • That would be wonderful! But I would probably be too tempted to indulge too often, so it is probably for the best.

One place where we lived had a drive-through convenience store. You pulled into it like a car wash. There were a few basics on either side, like bread and milk: you told the attendant what you wanted, and he got it for you and took your money. I thought it was great, but it didn’t last very long.

Barbara H., that is my dream store. I wouldn’t use it daily, but if I just drove my kids to school wearing holey pajama bottoms and desperately needed a loaf of bread, I’d be there. I’d pay more, too.

I wonder why it didn’t last long?

  • Since I am the only on in my family who likes cake, I would be a customer, for sure!

  • Oh yes, that would be lovely. You should totally do it! In all your spare time!

My daughter and I drove 30 miles to the Cheesecake Factory one day just because we were having cheesecake attacks (I know Gretchen, you don’t like cheesecake). It would be very dangerous if there were such a place that had cake and cheesecake in a drive thru…

There are some things that just shouldn’t be accessible via a drive thru. When I moved to South Carolina there were several things that took me by surprise but the biggest has to be the drive thru liquor stores in Myrtle Beach, SC. Similar to the convenience store drive thru that Barbara described (carwash style) but they are liquor stores…. seemed very strange to me and just not right. A lot of these places also sold fireworks. These places are open 24 hours a day (except on Sunday). You know that nothing good is going to happen when a car load of spring breakers pull into the drive thru liquor store at 3am and leave armed with a case of bud and box of fireworks.

  • Oh, I’m thankful that they don’t. If it doesn’t have a drive-through then I pretty much don’t do it anymore. It’s been quite handy on our budget and my weight loss. So no, please no!

Yum! I would like a mobile Starbucks – kind of like an ice cream truck …..

  • YES! And there should also be a drive-through called, “15 Items or Less” where a mom with a full van of kids can pull in, turn in a list of the couple of items she needs and have the person bag those up and load them into the back. It’s one less stop on a busy day of running errands (and it’s when I’m running around that I always remember we are out of baking powder or something) AND she won’t have to risk the whole “returning of the dreaded cart” issue! 🙂
