His name is Archer Edmund. We are calling him Archie.
He is very, very sick.
This afternoon, he began grunting and having a difficult time breathing. I told a nurse, who thought we’d run him to the nursery for a quick visit. We thought he was simply worn out from nursing constantly and the c-section.
Before I knew it, he was on oxygen, getting blood gases, CBC, other labs, chest x-rays, and an IV placed. He also has a tube running down his throat to drain air, which was building. As of this moment, we do not know what is wrong with him. It is all so sudden and I am beside myself. I am supposed to be pumping, but I needed to let my friends know this is a true hour of need.
Thank you.
Praying with my girls.

Adding my prayers! How scary! I hope it turns out to be something easily remedied and soon he will be home with the rest of the family!

Being a nurse who works in a birth center – I know your fears – and I applaud you for working so hard to keep up your “job” of breastfeeding your son. I trust that he is in capable and loving hands and that God will hold him (and you) close during this time when you are apart and he is getting healthy – babies are incredibly resilient and I have great confidence that you will see him come back into your arms very soon. Keep up that pumping and get some rest – may God grant you serenity…
Saw Steph had tweeted- I am praying for you!!
Congratulations on the birth of Archie! Many many prayers for his healing.

Many prayers for your sweet boy. My son spent 78 days in the NICU. It is a crazy place, but it also can be a good place because all those babies are very loved.

Our son spent 13 days in the NICU because of lung issues and sepsis. His first 5 days were spent on the vent with all kinds of tubes coming out of him! You and Archie have my prayers!!!
