I once read Germans refer to today as “Mourning Friday”. We call it Good Friday.
Both are right.
I took the pictures of a tree in our yard with the intention of following it through the seasons. The gorgeous splendor of fall helps us forget the coming winter and its love of the skeletal. The leaves in the middle picture made me think of the tree’s final breaths, drops of blood or tears—a last gasp. It’s hard to imagine where the life and luster hide.
Roaring back fragrantly and innocent pink, the tree is adorned in juicy flowers if the bees buzzing around my camera were right. It is Spring. You can’t keep a good tree down.
Or a Good God.
It is the hour to rend thy chains,
The blossom time of souls.

I love this. Our God is a God of wonders. His glory is displayed through out all creation and His love for us culminating with the death, burial and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. Your message captures it simply and elegantly.
The sigh of Spring is upon us….

I followed my backyard grove of ‘scrub oak’ through the early spring and into summer, and I don’t know if anyone else cared, but I loved it!
I’ll be happy to watch your tree…

PS. The german translation for Daffodil is literally ‘Easter Flower’. I always loved that. I had exactly 3 open in time this year.
