This is genius! As someone who does 90% of Christmas shopping online, I am giddy at this welcome development in consumer and environmental friendliness.
Amazon has introduced Frustration-Free packaging. Items which are normally wired, stapled, taped, glued, or otherwise ridiculously sealed in their boxes can now be purchased without inspiring Wrap Rage.
Any parent who has ever had to retrieve a screwdriver from the garage to take Barbie’s horse out of a box should applaud. Forcefully.
That is good news!! It is ridiculous how strapped in toys are!! Pliers, scissors, and screwdrivers shouldn’t be necessary for opening up a toy!

that’s incredible! i hope other stores catch on. i’ve always wondered why they were wired in so much. even expensive stuff like cameras aren’t as difficult to remove from wrapping as a toy truck!

Whoo hoo! *happy dancing*
Last year I thought of opening up a shop that would do just this. But I decided against it because t would be too irritating (and dangerous!)
Now, is Amazon also addressing the excessive use of batteries for toys also?
Bonnie’s last blog post..Flashback Friday, er Sunday
Very, very good news. In addition to the hassle of opening these products, the waste is irritating. Then, there is the image that flashes to my mind of someone being paid 50 cents an hour to twist all those ties, etc. Ugh. Thanks for sharing the good news!

Oh my. Holy cow. Wowee. I may hyperventilate at the sheer joy of not having to deal with screwdrivers and wire cutters when I’m trying to open a simple.child’s.toy.

Although Amazon doesn’t ship toys to Canada.
I’m still happy for you guys, though!

That is the most wonderful thing I’ve ever seen. Amazon will be getting a ton of my business this year.

Please stand in honor of the Hallelujah Chorus that I am now singing!
I have often said that the inventors of clamshell packaging were evil. And those twist tie thingies are a close second!
This is a fantastic idea.
Go Amazon, GO! Genius.

I remember seeing a news video of wrap rage. At first I thought it was silly, but then I saw how people get seriously injured from pocket knives and scissors while trying to cut open packaging. I hope the “new” packaging catches on!

My husband, admittedly prone to fits of Wrap Rage, will join you in the kissing of Amazon (with much slopiness).

Thank God for Amazon. Seriously. How did we exist as a society before the company was around? I have my doubts.
Amazon makes everything better…from gift guides, to packaging, to one-click shopping.
I am starting to sound like an ad for them, so I will sign off! 🙂
Thanks for your e-mail. Sweet of you to respond to my comment.

I did not know this! I do so much shopping on Amazon, too, but mostly for Legos. Will they send someone to my house to search for that ONE PIECE that seems to go missing as soon as the box is opened?

Adventures In Babywearing’s last blog post..The Time
Thanks for the heads up. It shouldn’t take all day to open the toys!
Reasone #482 I love Amazon.

And I didn’t think it was possible to love Amazon any more than I already do. They really showed me! This is awesome.

I think this is better than sliced bread.
Phew.
I hope it is soon on all toys.
Of course this is now, after I have all my children.
