The ones by us have made it from the nest and can be spotted following mom, trying to learn what she’s teaching. I still wonder how they go from the nest, sometimes 10′ in the air, to the ground and remain in one piece.
Wait a minute, did you take those pictures? But how fun. I came home to a little blue egg on my kitchen table. It has a little hole in the side with feathers. I asked my darling to please take it back outside or I’d lose my appetite.
Oh my goodness, look at those cute little freaky eyed birds. I’m so glad they made it. That’s an absolutely amazing photo. Bet mom was giving you the evil eye though.
Awww. They’re awfully cute, in a comical nearly bald mostly pink bulgy-eyed sort of way. 🙂
Kind of funny — they haven’t opened their eyes yet, but they sure seem to be operating their beaks with great animation. (Those wide open mouths remind me of my daughter – feed me, feed me, feed me!) Can’t wait to see photos of their first flying lessons.
Adorable picture! I’ll bet that they get big quickly!
I tried to respond to your comment, but my email would allow it! 😉 I just wanted to say thanks for the encouragement about Emily. I do hope my girl comes around–quickly!
Voracious: that’s the word. They make me hungry just looking at them. But not for what they’re going to get. Really, I think the transformation from baby bird to adult is nearly as astonishing as the one from caterpillar to butterfly. Lotsa hope there.
Just don’t be dumb as I was 5 years ago and have someone prune the tree, thereby leaving the baby birdies exposed to flying predators….in full view of your little children’s eyes….

How amazing. Great photo, so close to them I almost hear them chirping for food! And what is up with those eyes? They’re huge.

What a great picture. I told you before that I had some eggs, too. I watched the two of the three birds fly out of the nest last week.
