Protect me from knowing what I don’t need to know. Protect me from even knowing that there are things to know that I don’t know. Protect me from knowing that I decided not to know about the things that I decided not to know about. Amen. ~Douglas Adams, Mostly Harmless
I still have no idea which first lady to picture in a gaudy inaugural ball gown.
That’s really a shame. My life is so much the richer for being able to picture that very thing. I sigh for you, Gretchen.

I don’t understand exerting effort to prevent yourself from discovering something, unless you were adopted and you fear your real mother is Liza Minelli. Or Imelda Marcos. Then I’d totally get it.
So you know, I am a big brother, so I’m compelled to do that thing which you would least want done. It’s in my DNA. Just can’t help it.

You crack me up. Seriously? I think I would have to stay at home, all alone, in the dark to NOT know who won this election!
More power to you…

What an amazing quote. I think it’s so cool, your experiment.

I’m really curious to know if you don’t at least have some sort of inkling, more than you did four days ago? I’m with Heth; a very cool experiment…

I think that’s pretty good that you have been able to go so long and no one has told you, or you haven’t seen anything.
When you find it, it’ll probably be in an unexpected way.
I think the First Lady will look SPECTACULAR in her Inaguaral gown.
More power to you…I guess. I’m surprised your kids haven’t blabbed. My oldest was really into the whole election thing this year. He’d never be able to keep it a secret.
I guess I’d like to know more about why you’ve undertaken this experiment. Do you feel so alienated from government that you don’t care to know? Are you afraid the result might upset you? Is it just an ironic joke, that I’m not getting, like stealing a friend’s yard decoration and taking it on a road trip? It’s an interesting year to chose to be in the dark, given that a victory on either side would have been an historic, glass-ceiling shattering one. And finally, how is it possible to not know? Have you gone to the grocery store? Talked to strangers? Picked your kids up from school?
I love that quote.
