My husband and Ryley are the official snow shovelers:
Ryley is 10 and is capable and strong:
He got to work without complaint:
I loved watching him smile as he hoisted the heavy spring snow:
Working side-by-side with his dad in miserable conditions was actually a treat.
Ryley came inside happy and hungry—and a little older, if only in my eyes.
Great job Ryley! I love that my boys are old enough to shovel our walks so I don’t have to! Boys rock. =)

So if Pa has to go off and sell cattle, now you know you have a capable substitute “man of the house”. Oh wait, that’s Old Yeller.
Way to work Ryley.

Great job, Ryley! Could you please send him to Texas to teach my kids a thing or two about helping out mom and dad without complaining!?
And I was feeling sorry for myself because after a week of mid-80s, it’s 45 degrees here today. Seeing all that snow certainly shut me right up!

Shoveling all that snow looks like good character-building, male-bonding manly work. I guess that means I should refrain from describing the photos of your hard-working husband and son with girly cupcake-y words like “cute” and “sweet.” Even though they are.
Ah, what precious “growing up” times.
