I am a volunteer, but most of the time I don’t know it.
I volunteered to provide fabric for Aidan’s literacy class. They are making quilts today, in honor of Colorado’s craftier pioneers. I didn’t realize I had volunteered to provide the fabric until last night after dinner when Aidan said “let’s go to JoAnn’s Fabrics to get material!”
On Saturday, I will voluntarily provide brownies to the Girl Scout bowling night. I know this because I got the email confirming what Aidan volunteered me to do. At least I have a little notice.
So I sit here wondering what other altuistic, nice, sudden things I am going to be doing in the near future. My name is probably on lists all over town, scrawled by my elementary school-aged children on various sign-up sheets. It’s gratifying to know my kids think of me as generous and rich in brownie mix and calico.
What a cool legacy! 😉
Wasn’t that nice of her! Way to go Aidan!
Noelle’s 4th grade class is making a quilt too. She didn’t volunteer me, she volunteered he grandma to help sew it. I breathed a huge *phew!*
I can’t imagine what it will be like when my boys can write and volunteer my service. Yikes!

You know that is the funniest part of this post – I remember doing this to my mom. Oh my goodness, probably means my little one will be doing it too.
