Over at Facebook, I mentioned I gave my college-era Converse All-Stars low-top shoes to Ryley. I had a few requests for photos, and I am posting them here, rather than there, because when I attempted to make an album it asked for my permission to allow Facebook “unrestricted access” to my computer. No.
Presenting my former shoes, now worn by my eldest son:
I had to assure them they weren’t girl shoes. That would be disgusting. Strangely, he didn’t care they are almost 20 years old.
The first official airing-out of the shoes happened last night. We went on a bikeride/walk/run/splash/rock-chuck/flowering weed-gather around our neighborhood. Here are the four big boys, having post-adventure popsicles:
A lovely bouquet:
Nothing says adventure like a pair of Chucks. They look awesome.

OH, they DO suit him so well. What a fantastic gift. Here’s to many more adventures in one very cool pair of kicks.
Happy 4th!

Wow, they’re in really good shape. My son wears out his converse. Well, he’s also been known to draw on them and pick them apart, so that probably doesn’t help.
Happy 4th of July!

Ha! He’s ust like my sons–they also wouldn’t care about how old they were, only that they weren’t girl shoes. 🙂

I absolutely love it! Great color. I knew a guy in college whose signature fashion item was Chuck Taylor high tops. He had them in all different colors, including pink, as I recall.
And I had to laugh at “That would be disgusting.” My boys are currently visiting their grandparents in Wyoming. We spoke to them yesterday and our 7 year old said, “Well, when we first got here, we were totally disgusted by our room because it’s a girl room!” My mother-in-law has a penchant for florals and pink that has manifested itself in the guest room.

Isaac wears my shoes now too. And my old Gap jeans jacket. And tries for my leather one. Who woulda thunk?
